Cast Shark Tooth Necklace | Sterling Silver

I found these five shark teeth between Onslow Beach and Surf City, NC and had them cast in sterling silver. The originals have unique wear patterns from millions of years in the ocean and tumbling in the surf which makes them all unique to Stella Kate.

Species Information

Snaggletooth - Hemipristis serra upper shark tooth

White - Carcharodon hastalis shark tooth otherwise known as an extinct white shark.

Bull - Carcharhinus sp. upper jaw shark tooth. This genus of Gray sharks includes Bull, Dusky, Copper, and many more. This one is most likely a worn Bull shark but could also be a Dusky.

Copper - Carcharhinus sp. lower jaw tooth. This genus of Gray sharks includes Bull, Dusky, Copper, and many more. Copper is my best guess.

STERLING SILVER

Sterling silver naturally oxidizes, so you will need to polish your piece eventually. The oxidation can be removed with a treated polishing cloth/pad, or dipped in a cleaning solution made specifically for silver.  Dry the item thoroughly if you dip it in liquid cleaner, and do this sparingly. We use ProPolish pads and yellow Sunshine cloths. (If you want to keep your jewelry super sparkling clean at home, you could invest in a small ultrasonic cleaner.)
