Production + Shipping Info
Your item is handmade when you place your order.
We process orders Monday through Friday, excluding holidays. Most orders will be shipped within 5-7 business days via USPS. Sometimes they ship sooner, depending on the current volume of orders, and sometimes it requires the full 7 business days.
You will receive a shipping confirmation with tracking information to the email address provided at checkout. Please check your spam folder. We are unable to modify addresses or reroute packages once your order has shipped.
Orders over $150 will require a signature upon delivery. This is to ensure you receive your package and it's not left on someone else's porch or stolen.
Once the package shows delivered to your address, we no longer have control over the package and cannot be responsible for it. There is nothing that we can do on our end if it shows delivered (in this case contact your local carrier to see if they can locate the package).
In the event your package is returned to us, we will contact you to see how you'd like to proceed. If you've entered your address incorrectly or anything else outside of our control, you will need to pay for shipping again. If you don't wish to do that, we can issue a refund for the goods minus the original shipping cost.
A Note About Our Products
We purchase the metals that we use for bars, cuffs, and coins from a supplier in the United States (sterling silver, gold filled, or rose gold filled). We don't currently stamp our pieces to designate their metal type (e.g. .925 or 14KT GF).
The only components that we use that aren't solid sterling silver or gold filled will be specified in the description of the item. Examples are:
- Gold vermeil charms (gold plating over sterling silver)
- Gold plated charms (gold plating over brass or stainless steel)
- Stones or other natural items (like shark teeth) that may have gold or silver plating
What makes our bar necklaces different?
We make our own thick gauge bars instead of using premade blanks. Thin blanks look warped when they're stamped and the edges can be sharp.
We use professional metal stamps and tools on specific types of precious metals. This combination produces a smooth impression and a high quality product.
We've perfected our process. Specifically, gold filled has to be handled differently during the stamping and finishing process in order to preserve the layer of gold on the outside.
Hand Stamping
Because our pieces are hand-stamped, one letter at a time, there will be variations. They are not mass-produced by an engraving machine (this is why we are unable to reproduce a person’s handwriting; this is done by a machine). Hand-stamping is done by an artist and the hand stamps produce smoother, deeper impressions that are gorgeous! However, it is impossible to line up the letters absolutely perfectly. There will be slight variations in the depth of the letters, spacing, and alignment. We do try to stamp as perfectly as possible. When true errors are made, we re-do the stamping during the production process.
Allergy Disclaimer + Info
We use cultured pearls, gemstones, natural shells, shark teeth, silk, synthetic cords, leather, precious metals, and other components. The metals we use are sterling silver, gold, gold filled, rose gold filled, and sometimes Bali silver or Hill Tribe silver. Gold filled contains a brass alloy in the center, and some parts of that brass may be exposed (e.g. the sides of a bar necklace). Sterling silver contains 92.5% silver, 7.5% copper, and possibly other metals. If an item is soldered, the solder is an alloy of various metals. If an item is plated, there could be various metals between the base metal and the outer layer. If you think you could be sensitive to anything mentioned above, we do not recommend purchasing.
Please check each individual product page for specific materials used.

Returns & Exchanges
- Regular Orders: You can return a non-custom item within 14 days of purchase. It has to be unworn/unused with no signs of wear to the item or packaging (re-sellable condition). All Stella Kate packaging must be included with the item(s). Return shipping is the responsibility of the customer. Please email before mailing the item(s) back so we can be expecting the package.
- Custom Orders: We don't offer returns on anything that has been customized, but we will replace the item if we've made a mistake or the item is defective. (In these cases, please contact us within 3 days of the package being delivered.)
- Exchanges: Please initiate a return and then reorder the correct item.
We process returns within 5 business days of receiving your package. You will receive an email notification when your return is processed. Refunds are issued to the original form of payment.
Please make sure to properly package the item - a plain paper envelope can rip and the jewelry will fall out. We can't be responsible for the item if its lost or stolen on its way back to us, so consider getting tracking and insurance.
Sales, Specials, & Pricing
Sales are not retroactive; we don't offer price adjustments.
Because the precious metals market changes on a daily basis, our prices are subject to change according to the current market.
